Jesus made a statement about the days of Noah In Matthew 24:
Matthew 24:36-38 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
What do we know from the days of Noah?
There was a flood
Historically, when you use the bible, would calculate back you come to around 2500 years before Christ when the flood happened. A great book (which is available in Dutch as well) is:The Timechart History of the World: Over 6000 Years of World History Unfolded (Timechart series): Hull, Edward, Gibbons, David: 9780785827825: Amazon.com: Books
to study the timelines of the past. The worldwide flood is told in many cultures. Check out Global Flood – Index to Videos and Articles (sciencepastor.com) for more information about the flood.
It seems as if the Chinese started calculating the years starting with the flood. According to the Chinese calendar – Wikipedia it is now 4720. It also explains why there are a lot of the genesis stories in the Chinese characters:

It is a really interesting book, which I know for many years.
Some remarkable verses about the time before the flood
When you read the first chapters of Genesis, you read some remarkable verses:
- There was no rain: Genesis 2:5-6
- People became very old: Genesis 5
- Apparently, it was very, very evil on the earth: Genesis 6
No rain
So how can it be that it didn’t rain? We read in Genesis 1:
Gen 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
So there were not just a few clouds in the air, there was a canopy of water over the earth.
When the flood started, likely by a meteoroid, that crashed the canopy, the water came down and it rained for 40 days:
Gen 7:12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
That would not be possible with the clouds that we have now. It also explains why there never was a rainbow before the flood:
Gen 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
People got very old
In Genesis 5 you read that people became very old. As we saw in the previous paragraph there was a canopy of water around the earth, by which less radiation from space came through.
That there is a relationship between radiation from outer space and ageing is a known fact, do check Aging and age-related health effects of ionizing radiation – ScienceDirect. Not only people got very old before the flood, reptiles like the dinosaurs became quite old and large as well.
The evil upon the earth
It was quite eveil on earth before the flood, but after the flood the evil was still there.
Evil before the flood
In Genesis 6, we read about the sons of mankind who begat children with the woman of men, and there was violence and giants in the land. The sons of God mentioned in Genesis 6, are exactly the same Hebrew words as the sons of God in Job chapter 1.
So you can discuss but it seems that the fallen angels came to create a kind of mix between fallen angels and mankind. There might be more truth in the mythology stories about Gods relating to women than you thought when you learned them in secondary school… These, the Nephilim were large and evil, as we can read in Genesis chapter 6.
We read in Genesis 4 about the bloodline of Cain. There is Lamech, which is a pretty evil person. The first guy who murdered 2 persons, and two wives. Cain was protected by God, but Lamech declares his own protection. His sons somehow got knowledge about farming, musical instruments, and mining. And somehow his daughter Naama was mentioned… H’m… Did the fallen angels change knowledge and technology for the right to have Naama as a wife? Bible doesn’t give the proof, but then it would be logical why Naama is mentioned in the bible.
A good book about the Nephilim is The judgement of the Nephilim.

Evil after the flood
Noah was perfect in his generation.
Gen 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Perfect in his generation, what does it mean? That Noah’s bloodline was not contaminated by the fallen angels? OK, if that would be so, but there were still giants after the flood. At least one person on the arc did have some giant blood. As it wasn’t Noah, his wife, and his sons, it must have been from their son’s wives.
In Genesis 9:21 to 9:25, we read a strange story. About Noah being drunk from wine, and Ham, seeing his father’s nakedness, while then Canaan is cursed by Noah… Wait, Ham did something wrong, not Canaan, isn’t it? This is a good question that books have been written about, and that I cannot answer in a few lines. Ham’s family is an interesting one.
When we read on in chapter 10 we see again that out of the bloodline of the Ham family came Nimrod, who built the tower of Babel. In the bible, he is mentioned as a mighty hunter before the Lord. In the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Old Testament, he is mentioned as a giant hunter, Genesis 10 Brenton’s Septuagint Translation (biblehub.com).
Later on, Joshua needs to kill some folks who are pretty large, and are exactly the races that are descending from the Canaan race. Eventually, David and his friends killed the last of these giants.
